Forces Fitness: we have found the ultimate challenge?

A group of people that themselves pushing beyond the usual boundaries of fitness, there is the military. The closest civil extreme sports events reach fitness soldier found in overlanding or outrageous ultra-distance events such as the Marathon des sables.

Therefore, the Royal British Legion has established a challenge: get a team together and prove your proficiency in 30: 30 Exmoor.

It is not for the timid or the courageous ghost; the event gets its name from the distance involved (30 miles) and the weight of each competitor needs to take to (30 lbs / 13.6 kg).

The course is a path around Exmoor.Aunque not is the Himalayas, Exmoor highly changing climate, uneven ground and drifts of the mist 'of peas soup' tested even the more experienced to limit soldiers.

Competitors need to scroll through ten manned checkpoints, and the challenge can take them at night, that compass and work skills on computer really need you to get through.

As inspiration, new equipment should closely monitor their military rivals: they are trained to apply the principle of the layer, to manage the inevitable blisters and sores and a ' buddy, buddy ' (work in pairs to help each other in the simplest of tasks).

There is a charge of £ 50 per person, and all the team members are asked to raise at least £ 1,000 for charity. The Legion, which provides financial, emotional and practical support for past and present service persons and their dependants is recruiting to everyone from office workers to the staff of the armed forces to take part in the challenge.

Winners of last year, Exmoor, browsers are back to defend his title of international teams of challengers and eager to show armed forces know his stuff.

Peter Govier team member described the nine hours taken to complete the route as "go to hell and perform backup".

"Was mentally and physically, hard," says Peter.""We have all found fairly fit and knew the area, but the climate was atroz.La career may be called 30: 30 Exmoor, but due to circumstances you inevitably end up going more browsers lejos.Los ended up making 36 miles."

However it is not all hard work: computers they will still get to enjoy what is one of only remain a few desolate británicos.Exmoor is largely indomitable and enjoy a beer steam will award a fast look up from the map or a firstborn resting, even the most tired of cavalry minute.

If you are for it and want to raise money for a great cause, then gain training and get your application in.

UK Thompson Russell, director of national events and fundraising, says: "30: 30 Exmoor really is the ultimate challenge and give a taste civilian participants by type of training armed services personnel go before being sent to Afghanistan and Iraq".

Is vacation hiking that is safe, but if you have relevant experience, can be to hire a team and can prepare properly, 30: 30 Exmoor nudge you didn't

Who needs the borders anyway?

A quick look at the map of the world quickly reveals how we had carved. And while each country loves his sovereignty (probably win a war on borders) it seems strange that we remain as compartments.

Anyone who travels always returns sensation in the world is a much smaller place. Is not because travel International recently with much faster, not ha.Es because travellers observe human similarities along with cultural differences.

So, on the one hand anomalies, we love but on the other, see little need for rigid dividing - lines at all, for most of history, everything you have managed to do is to divide.

The enlargement of Europe has been progressive, in the sense of helped bring together States in the name of trade and cooperation. but is far from popular: feeling of Governments are losing authority, some fear of people to their identity and the remains of club exclusive - if not up financially, you can wait for the door.

The world of adventure sports Division is most noticeable when above the mountains. The marker was formerly a-tipped pen history and put on the map was physical characteristics that dictated the geographical borders.

But sat above Zugspitze, the highest mountain of Germany, can't help but notice the futility of todo.Gire left, his descent in Austria; change to the right, is a rapid decline in Germany. And peaks in the South and West are in Switzerland and Italy.

Here nature is divided and always did: limestone mountains are formed from sediments of the Tethys Ocean, once separated from ancient continents Laurasia and Gondwana.Así that what is skiing, snowboarding or climbing in was once the ocean bottom, only lifted up by the collision between Central Europe and North Africa: blink and you have not lost; 30 million years initiated the process makes - took two million years to the glaciers split to valleys!

We are one people not only separate lines on the map? what O are we defined our homeland and really needs to keep closely badges and colors of representation?

Edges help define identity and make maps look very pretty and, admittedly, they are here to stay.

But do we really need them? have their say...

And participate in teams, as well as.Much of the adventure sports events being events alone; the rat race is so on teamwork, as it is the resistance personal.Y will need much resistance and resistance to do so on; waiting to run, bike, kayak, climbing and abseiling to do or against the clock, all day!

If you still cannot imagine it, I think that you team orientation, but without trees and streams torrent-driven.

Serious triathletes and the super-fit must sign on with a team of the 'ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ', slightly daunting double bill of two other challenges, both on the same weekend.

Adventure racing is not new.For a long time there has been resistance servicial Cruz-disciplina challenges that await participants to prove itself mismos.Pero this taking to the streets is new and really take off.

Rat race began on the streets in 2004.the UK team behind this new multi-sport event are determined to explore the potential of the urban landscape and create a completely different challenge.

"""The urban adventure of rat race was created to remove the wild adventure and place them in the streets of the city," said Jim Mee, Managing Director at rat race events".the result is, we hope, a way of seeing their own city or visiting a new one, in spite of having fun with his teammates actually peculiar and different".

Thanks to its unique appeal, the competition has been extended to major cities and abroad, demasiado.A difference with other events, organizers reveal the course just hours before the start of the race, by which the initiative, no preparation, is everything.

Summiting Snowdon, joy or capturing their first heat of the day not can be imitated; air cold autumn as the grabs him by the bootlaces and reassembly which you out to the hills can never be bottled, yet urban racing is proving that they can be domesticated adventure sports.

Ski & snowboard holidays by train

There are ski and snowboard holiday that had the world over, but flying abroad with a plate or your own skis never has been fun. Do so as the new generation of high-speed service, could this announce a new era in sports travel?
The current railway network in Europe is extensive; reaches all corners of the continente.Pero only few trains are really fast enough to compete with airline companies for travel times.
Take the new German train, which will enter into service. The Inter City Express (ICE) 3 can top 200 mph and will central Europe and the centers of ski and snowboard easily within reach.
But to make any use railway companies have to win back customers of budget airlines. And taking into account the shaky friendship between the two, railway companies could be on track for some business fresh.
If you can offer more comfort, organize convenient transitions between travel and provide space for all our advice and bags, knows sports fans adventure will begin to vote with their feet and back to carriers.
Taking equipment sports plane has never been easy, but getting anything Board now is difficult. And with the current phase of airlines obsession about each pound - weight, as well as price - could actually be time for a change.
Take a bag of average size snowboard abroad is likely to go in the cellar and charged as extra luggage, but if you ski or odd-shaped sports baggage is watching 35 pounds from their flights. And forget the reservation of a last minute snowboard holiday or skiing holiday and taking their own equipment: airlines like having at least two months notice - no is that nobody knows why.
Trains are not without their constraints, without embargo.Es only that there is no formal check baggage for each leg of each trip. Reserve Eurostar must arrive 30 minutes before, if you're on board with skis and expect that they will be charged - but for snowboarding, olvídese.Los trains have no weight restrictions, have an allowance of two bags of midsize and hand - luggage and it makes no sense that they are looking for wring you for every penny.
Rail transport on the continent is excelente.Todas things considered, if you live near a mainline connection and get a line of high speed to Cologne, give it a go, you'll soon find yourself in the Alps, the Pyrenees, Val d ' Isère, or any of the top European winter adventure sports locations.
It is not certain, however, that all super fast rail connections will continue, while Governments are under pressure to reduce carbon emissions and balance the need for new airports, are flush with money.
That said, the newly completed UK high-speed network HS1, is ready for German trains and countries around the world have been doing similar measures: Belgium Thalys trains now operates from Brussels to Paris, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Amsterdam; Spanish AVE trains are equally efficient; France and Italy are also fulfilling his amateur sport with options not happy with the trains of 200 km/h X 2000 - Swedish and great rail adventure, this company is looking to introduce rolling stock that can be more than 300 km/h!
Whatever be the path to take it for a vacation of snowboarding, is all about the nieve.Por therefore keep eye on the weather reports and their March on hand; winter comes so be prepared!

Steps to speeding up your metabolism

Everyone is always asking me how I eat so much yet never gain any fat. I wanted to blog about how people can loose weight and live healthy by speeding up there metabolisms. So many people eat 2 or 3 large meals a day. This is a bad way to go if you are trying to loose weight. You always want to be eating small portions throughout the day. It keeps your metabolism busy and keeps it working hard. Think of it as making your metabolism go to the gym. You have to work it out in manageable portions that is can handle. Eat like 7 meals a day but in small portions. Think as your metabolism as your workout buddy. You can't put them on a bench press machine with 500 pounds they won't be able to handle it. Instead make them do light weight with large reps to get the same workout. As your metabolism gets stronger you will be able to eat more and not have to worry about it. Make sure you are getting plenty of natural anti oxidants. Anti oxidants will help you fight off free radicals(unhealthy cells) that are some of the main causes for diseases such as cancer, heart disease. Think as your body as metal and you are surrounded by all these things that cause you to rust. The air you breathe. The sun burning your skin. Pollutants in the air. They all cause oxidization within your body and Antioxidants will help you stay healthy and look younger. Some great products if you are looking to save money on fruit are health drinks such as JUS. They contain high levels of Antioxidants and all you have to do is take 1 ounce per day. You get 14 servings of fruit. No preparation no peeling no chopping no shopping. Stay away from pills. Often pills do not dissolve and they just go strait through your system. Waste of money. Liquids are the way to go. Acai, Mangosteen, Goji berry,  and other wild fruits that often can not be found in stores can be purchased online and are including in health drinks such as JUS

The mindset of a Pro Athlete

Being a photographer I and a former Pro Skier I have always been around amazing athletes. Being so competitive we learned ways of blocking everything out and focusing on what we wanted to achieve that day whether it be for competition or a new trick or faster time through the skiercross or mogul course. Not too many people realize that almost 90% of your ability to do a sport is all in your head. Yes some of it may have to do with certain muscles that you have built up but still it was the training that we pushed ourselves to do that got us those muscles. If you don't have strong focus and drive to be great then you will always be just average at your sport of choice. You see downhill skiers sitting at the top of the course with there headphones on. There eyes are closed and they are going through the course with there hands by memory just remembering every little turn. When to start turning, is there a rut there, where does the slope drop off and what parts do I need to tuck. They are going through the course mentally and actually getting extra practice runs in. You see ski aerialists at the top of the course with there eyes closed doing funny things with there arms and twisting there bodies. They are going over exactly what they have to do to complete there rotations and flips in order to land successfully. How about surfing. Surfing takes so much mental strength. Imagine being at the top of a 30 foot wave looking down through the water at sharp reef knowing that if you mess up your going right into that. Not too many people realize how crazy surfing really is. They think oh if you eat it its only water? Nope not the case. Waves are formed by the volume of water from deeper areas being pushed into shallow areas which are either reef or sand bars. This causes the wave to form and throw. So what does a pro surfer think when he is about to drop off on a wave? I was talking to my friend Hank Gaskell who has done really well with his surfing career and he was saying that when he's taking off on a wave he knows he is going to make the drop and bottom turn and he visions himself making it out. If you think you are going to eat it you most likely will. I used to compete professionally in Big Air and Slope style for skiing and I would always notice that if I visioned myself making a trick that I had never tried before I would somehow land on my feet. If I was nervous about it and thought I was going to eat it I would always crash and usually it would not tickle. So no matter what your favorite sport is always be confident. Know that you are going to land that trick or go faster through the course and push yourself to be the best.
